The Fortville-Vernon Twp. Public Library donated these materials to The Genealogy Center of the Allen County Public Library, and they are presented here with that library's permission.

The Fortville-Vernon Twp. Public Library would like to thank those who made the digitization of the local Fortville newspapers from 1984-2006 a success. The Community Shopper newspaper ran from 1984-2004, and the Fortville/McCordsville Tribune ran from 2005-2006. The digitization project was made financially possible through a monetary donation from the Estate of Joseph Postrack. Mr. Postrack had worked at Indianapolis Newspapers for 22 years. Before that, he had worked at the Fortville Tribune, Anderson Herald Bulletin, Central Publishing Co., and Indianapolis Printing Co.

Mr. Dick Collins, the creator and publisher, along with his wife, Sherry Collins, of the Community Shopper donated all of his newspapers to the Fortville Library for this project. Thanks to volunteer efforts from Susan (Graham) Lucas, an index to marriages, anniversaries, and obituaries has been compiled from the newspapers.
