Lewis, Melvin Arthur, U.S.S. Arizona

Melvin Arthur Lewis was born 19 March 1915 in Fairfield, Clay County, Nebraska. He was one of 7 children born to George Leslie Lewis and Mary Dolly (Bryant) Lewis. The U.S.S. Arizona was his first ship assignment. This memory log was kept in 1936. Mel served in the Navy for 20 years as a musician. He also manned the guns in WWII.
