Jacksonburg was changed to Nashville in 1837.
The 1853 Courthouse was heavily damaged by fire in 1873, and was rebuilt from the foundation and remaining walls. There have been 2 additions on the rear of the building. The 1874-1875 rebuild is considered a new Courthouse.
