Transcribed by Meredith Thompson, 2012.
This is a transcription of the lists of voters in Hendricks County, Indiana for an election held in November 1860 to elect the President and Vice President of the United States.
The lists of voters were compiled for each of the 11 townships that existed in Hendricks County at the time (Lincoln Township did not exist yet). The voting places were listed as Brownsburg (Brown Township), Danville (Center Township), Springfield (Clay Township), North Salem (Eel River Township), Stilesville (Franklin Township), Plainfield (Guilford Township), Belleville (Liberty Township), New Winchester (Marion Township), Pittsboro (Middle Township), New Elizabeth (Union Township), and Center School House (Washington Township).
NOTE: Several of these lists were very difficult to read. Some of Hendricks County's early voter lists have been microfilmed; that microfilm is available at the Indiana State Library, as well as through the Family History Library. Copies of the November 1860 voter lists are in the collection of Plainfield Public Library.
